Cultural and Archaeo-Astronomical Tools in the Digital Age
Our understanding of astronomy of our ancestors has become more strongly based on factual data and simulations, allowing researchers to identify possible traces of astronomical knowledge in archaeological remains and artefacts. Modern planetarium software like Stellarium helps exploring the connection between land and sky. Statistical and survey tools are essential for this field. Their astronomical reliability needs constant improvement given more realistic scenarios. This is an opportunity to present digital tools, applications and future improvement. We will also run short workshops enabling engagement and discussions. We intend to bring together young researchers and students to encourage future collaborations and development.
