The Earth's radiation belts may have been the first major discovery of the space age, but we cannot yet predict their behaviour reliably. Open questions remain regarding energetic particle sources, losses and transport and their responses to solar wind driving and substorms. Recent observations from Saturn and Jupiter show how diverse radiation belt phenomena can be. The unparalleled data we now have on the space radiation environment presents a golden opportunity to push the limits of our understanding and simulation capabilities. We invite contributions on any aspect of radiation belt science at the Earth, the Outer Planets or beyond!
